*Silver Creek *Modular has an excellent opportunity for a *Payroll Specialist* to process and manage the company’s in house payroll.
The right individual will have worked in the construction industry, have experience with PLA and prevailing wages.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, strong organizational, and time management skills.
They are good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information.
They have great communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives.
The goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.
*Overview:* Administers processing of organization's payroll and collects payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
Analyzes payroll and employee expenses, assures general ledger accounts are reconciled; creates on-going month-end, quarterly, and year-end organization reports; and performs other rated duties as assigned.
Audits payroll information for accuracy.
Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
Participates in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.
*Typical Functions* Assures that payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with external and internal policies.
Performs actions necessary to track and determine regular and overtime pay, and factors commission-based income or bonuses into an employee's salary.
Screens time-worked inputs for calculating, coding, or other errors.
Monitors computer reports alerting Payroll Clerks to problems or errors.
Reconciles errors and maintains payroll records.
Reviews and processes payroll adjustments, including vacation, sick, and other time off.
Generates accrual entries, as required.
*Monitor certified payroll for both internal self-perform projects and external subcontractors.
* *Perform periodic audits on projects to ensure compliance.
* *Review and verifies payroll records, fringe benefits, employer training contributions and apprenticeship certificates to determine compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
* Fields and responds to payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies as required.
Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors Maintains knowledge of rules and laws which govern the payroll administration practices.
Prepare and distribute paychecks Prepare reports for upper management, finance department *Perform other related duties as assigned.
* *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed:* * Proficienct in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word * Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills with the ability to recognize discrepancies * Strong work ethic - willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and done correctly * Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices * Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team *Education and Experience requirements:* * High school or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus * *A minimum of 2-3 years of proven certified payroll experience is required.
* * Knowledge of Prevailing Wage & Davis Bacon laws * Accounting: 1 year - *preferred* * Experience using LCP Tracker-*preferred* * Ability to work independently and accurately.
* Experience with *Vista Viewpoint Spectrum -preferred* * Attention to detail Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.
