Gold Star Foods is currently hiring for an Accounts Payable Manager that will be working out of our Ontario, CA location.
The AP is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable function across all Divisions (18 Divisions across 12 states nationwide) for the private equity-backed GS Foods Group, Inc.
and its subsidiaries (“GS Foods” or the “Company”) located in Ontario, California.
GS Foods is seeking a finance professional to build and lead the AP function with high-level of exposure across the Company.
GS Foods is a leading specialty food distributor serving primarily K-12 schools in addition to other specialized end markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP) Work directly with the CFO and Director of Shared Services to ensure efficient and effective execution of critical steps in the AP process: Vendor credit limits and payment terms PO accuracy Invoice accuracy Issue Resolution (CRMs, Credit Memos) Payments Final Resolution of unpaid balances AP aging reporting and management Develop and document current operating process for the AP cycle Drive process improvements and best practices to ensure better standardization Assess and implement technology solutions to improve efficiencies Develop, track and drive improvement in Days Payables Outstanding (DPO) metrics Overall Assess needs of the Company related to AP and develop/implement a team structure to best deliver against the AP accountabilities Build and develop high performance teams Create a culture to drive superior customer experience with every interaction by an AP team member with our vendors and suppliers Strong presentation, reporting and communication skills Assist with special projects as requested and prepare ad hoc analysis as necessary Ability to work effectively independently and work under deadlines Follow all company policies and procedures.
Ability to identify trends and discern root cause from large sets of data using creative solutions Conduct analysis and data interpretation to be able to explain the “why” behind variances and trends Essential for Success: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred but not required.
CPA / MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years of related experience, to include Accounting, Finance, Shared Services, AR and AP ERP system experience, with NAV experience preferred Strong partnership skills and proven financial support of various functions throughout the company Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience in a PE backed environment preferred Excellent communication skills and with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization Assist other personnel to accomplish tasks from time to time MS Office and other applicable financial software applications; Workday Adaptive a plus Individual should be a power user in excel and have strong experience with pivot tables, matches, and other key formulas Significant experience with three statement models and iterative reference is preferred Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

The team will consider a flexible location and allow some work from home after the initial on-boarding.
Work Environment: Professional office and warehousing/distribution environment.
Performance of this position will occasionally require exposure to the warehouse areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protection equipment will be required.
Floors may be wet and slippery when in frozen or refrigerated areas.
Primary office environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
Intermittent travel and full-time office presence are required.
