Position Information
Under the general direction of the Payroll Coordination and Analysis Manager, the Payroll Analyst 3 is responsible for the coordination of payroll activities between employees, departments, shared services, and the UCPath Center.
Confirmation of UCPath GL data, creation of multiple monthly payroll and cost transfer journal feeds.
Coordination of payroll and GL issue resolution with the UCPath Center, analysis of payroll transactions for completeness.
Completion of complex payroll expense transfers, preparation of manual journal corrections and documentation of UCPath system errors, establishment of complex payroll position funding, analysis of payroll funding discrepancies, cross-functional support of the Accounting and Payroll Coordination & Analysis unit.
Respond to Shared Service Center inquiries on payroll and all payroll related matters.
This role is critical in maintaining the support level to employees, campus departments, and the shared services center.
The full salary range for the Payroll Analyst 3 is $59,000.
00 - $ 103,400.
00 annually.
However, the expected pay scale for this position is $59,000.
00 - $92,300.
00 annually.
We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Required Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
Preferred Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience.
Required 3 Demonstrated experience with financial systems, UCPath system, UCR financial tools, Time and Attendance System Preferred A broad range of experience with a large, complex automated payroll system.
Required 3-5 Payroll analysis and payroll process improvement Preferred Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Must successfully pass a background check through the DOJ and FBI.
Required Business necessitates vacations planned around important deadlines, such as payroll processing cycles.
Required Minimum Requirements Strong mathematical skills.
Knowledge of internal controls and evaluating potential risk.
Ability to appropriately manage and prioritize tasks with overlapping deadlines.
Keen eye for detail to ensure correct coding of data and to discern data anomalies.
Problem solving, problem identification, reasoning skills and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills; verbal, written and active listening communication skills.
Uses strong interpersonal and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues.

Knowledge and skill preparing journal entries that are in compliance with GAAP, agency, and institutional requirements using an automated financial system.
Skill in maintaining confidentiality in all payroll matters.
Knowledge and skill reconciling complex balance sheet accounts and researching/resolving discrepancies.
Skill performing system's administrator responsibilities in a propriety system; and managing data and data set transfers between various systems.
Demonstrated advanced skills using personal computer including experience using Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); and querying and analyzing data utilizing PC based tools.
Thorough knowledge of all payroll processes, policies, and procedures; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of non-resident alien tax withholding requirements for payments to employees, contractors and students.
Skill preparing and delivering successful training workshops.
