Position Information
Under the general direction of the Executive Director and/or the Budget Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst III provides professional-level expertise and skill while conducting analysis and research critical to help campus leadership make informed data-driven decisions on how to align resources to best meet campus strategic goals.
As part of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, this position performs various analyses related to organizational budgets, revenue and expenditures, forecasts, and projections to ensure that UCR resources are effectively and efficiently utilized to move the university mission forward.
This position is designated as a Career Ladder recruitment, which means the hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series.

The full salary range for the Financial Analyst III is $71,100.

We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Required Advance degree in a related area.
Preferred Experience Experience Requirement 4 - 7 years of related experience.
Required Experience in monitoring budgets and creating financial reports.
Required Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM.
Preferred Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional work.
Preferred Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Must successfully complete a background check through the DOJ and FBI.
Required Minimum Requirements Demonstrated ability to manipulate a high volume of complex data.
Proven ability to use spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems.
Ability to function as a member of a team.
Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills.
Has ability to independently gather required information, organize, and perform financial analysis assignments.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of capital debt management practices, fund accounting in higher education, and capital project review and approval processes.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
