The Senior Financial Analyst oversees underwriting all types of multifamily investments, including LIHTC and non-traditional financing structures, as well as refinancing, recapitalization, and restructuring underwriting support for the existing portfolio.
Key responsibilities include market, and documentation analysis, transaction processing, and engagement in project reviews with lenders, brokers, and investors.
The role involves presenting to the investment committee and collaborating with finance and development groups.
Building relationships within the broker and investor community is vital.
The Senior Financial Analyst will also explore non-LIHTC deals as well, with the addition of alternative or non-traditional financing, refinancing, recapitalization, and restructuring underwriting support for the existing portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES Lead underwriting for all types of multifamily properties.
Perform comprehensive financial analyses, including market research and partnership evaluations.
Handle due diligence, from material collection to site visits.
Engage in conference discussions with key stakeholders such as lenders and brokers.
Prepare and present findings for investment committee approvals.
Collaborate with the Finance leadership and other teams to offer real estate insights and data for financial modeling.
Create and maintain detailed financial models; ensure accuracy.
Assist in quarterly business reviews, including market analysis and key metric communication.
Manage market analysis data for individual projects.
Evaluate potential investment opportunities based on market data and forecasts.
Support acquisition due diligence and provide recommendations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
Master's preferred.
3-5 years of experience in real estate finance, acquisitions, asset management, or affordable housing financing, with familiarity in the LIHTC program.
Knowledge of non-traditional financing structures is advantageous.
Must have strong analytical skills.
Experience in real estate transactions beneficial.
Proficiency in Excel, with good knowledge of MS Word and Power Point.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment.
Ethical, team-oriented, and detail-focused.
Familiarity with Costar, a commercial real estate information service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Operate computer and office equipment.
Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
