Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant – Gaming Properties is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, supporting schedules and reconciliations for all San Manuel gaming properties.
The Staff Accountant – Gaming Properties assists in monthly journal entries, prepares balance sheet account reconciliation, and records multiple transactions as needed.
This position disseminates information and provides additional analysis, as needed.
The Staff Accountant – Gaming Properties also collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values
*Essential Duties & Responsibilities*
1.
Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and supports schedules for month end closings.
2.
Independently prepares journal entries, determines required adjustments, and maintains transactions in the general ledger.
3.
Prepares the analysis between budget and actuals for assigned departments.
4.
Prepares a monthly trend analysis for assigned departments and determines required adjustments.
5.
Assists accounting leadership with bookkeeping and maintenance of financial records.
6.
Retrieves and processes documents requested by third parties, including but not limited to, credit card disputes, chargebacks, and returned items.
7.
Prepares and scans electronic files into the enterprise information management system, as needed.
8.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
*Education/Experience/Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college or university is required.
* Minimum of two (2) years of related experience and/or training is required.
* Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
* Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (i.
e.
Infor) is preferred.
* Intermediate proficiency in computerized financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required.
* Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from vendors, managers, and employees.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
* Intermediate proficiency and experience with general office equipment, including but not limited to 10-key calculator by touch.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

* At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
* A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
