Click here to discover more about the benefits of working with the County of Riverside! The Department of Public Social Services - Children’s Services Division is seeking a candidate for Parent Partner (Parent/Youth Partner), located in Riverside.
The incumbent will meet with parents one-on-one to provide support and resources to help them achieve their personal goals, including either reunifying through lived experience with their children or maintaining their children in their care.
They will collaborate with Social Services Practitioners to ensure the parents are receiving the necessary resources available to them, attend committee action meetings and family team meetings.
They will provide their unique lived experience to assist with administrative duties and document efforts, provide emotional support to parents, attend court hearings, and collaborate with various community resources that facilitate an environment for parents to learn life skills to achieve a sense of well-being and promote reunification efforts and/or family maintenance.
The most qualified candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The incumbents will have a closed child welfare case for at least 3-5 years and have successfully completed the reunification process through a child welfare agency.
Valid California Drivers License required, Candidate will travel throughout Riverside County.

Can you see yourself here? EXAMPLE OF DUTIES • Provide, as part of a professional team, assistance and support to parents/youth including peer counseling/mentoring and accompanying parents to meetings.
• Orient parents entering the child welfare system.
• Communicate, represent, and promote on behalf of parents heir perspective within the child welfare system.
• Participate in programs, meetings, and trainings as part of a professional team.
• Identify information and resources in local communities, which are useful to parents.
• Assist and promote active involvement in support group activities.
• Plan and provide feedback related to workshops, conferences and other coordinated efforts to improve related services.
• Review existing and proposed programs for implementation of partners philosophy and participate in the development of new programs and resources.
• Document all contacts and interactions with their mentee in the designated database.
• Represent the Department in local and Statewide meetings for networking and information sharing; provide training about effective parent partnership.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Other Requirements License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License is required.
Veterans’ Preference The County has a Veterans Preference Policy.
