Alessandro Boulevard Riverside, CA 92508 *Job Qualifications:* *- 12 core semester units *in Early Childhood Education/Development - *6 months experience *in a licensed child-care center or comparable group child- care program with children under the age of 5 *Required Skills and Abilities:* * Must have a warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families.
* Must be reliable.
* Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
* Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance.
* Must have excellent organization, oral and written communication skills.
* Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
*Job Summary:* The Twos Teacher is responsible for the care, supervision and management of a class of children (24 months of age) in compliance with CA state regulations, and in accord with the goals and curriculum plan of The Learning Experience (TLE).
*Duties and Responsibilities:* * Ensures the safety and well-being of the children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures * Creates an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which children and families feel comfortable and secure * Operates the classroom in compliance with all child-care licensing standards, and TLE Employee and Policy Handbooks * Greets children and their parents warmly and with enthusiasm each morning * Maintains “Attendance sheet”, and keeps current head count at all times of the children in care * Provides daily care individually for each toddler – diapering, potty training, assisting feeding, etc.
* Implements TLE curriculum, and lesson plans to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child * Keeps strict record of feedings, diaper changes, medications applied for each child daily * Plans and implements individual lessons and activities to stimulate age appropriate learning * Implements classroom activities daily (sing-a-longs, art projects, sensory exploration, outdoor stimulation) * Engages with the children in her care, stimulating and promoting language development * Ensures that child-care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with the child development principles.
This includes routines related to feeding, diapering, hand washing, toy bath, napping, children’s music playing, and smooth transitioning between activities * Maintains “Show and Tell” app * Maintains classroom bulletin boards, ensures that they are current, and neat * Displays children’s art work with the “Documentation of Learning Certificate” * Ensures the classroom is clean, neat, orderly and clutter free at all times Adheres to outlined policies for sanitation including hand washing, diapering, toy baths, nap mats and cots, laundry, and the handling of foods.
* Will clean and sanitize diaper changing pad according to CA state regulations (proper use of solution, etc.
) after every diaper change.
* Will clean and sanitize tables according to CA state regulations (proper use of solution, etc.
) before and after eating.
* Will maintain cleans floors by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming as needed * Maintain clean walls in the classroom * Will clean and sanitize toilets and sinks according to CA state regulations (proper use of solution, etc.
) as necessary * Conducts focused observation of toddlers; maintains observation forms * Ensures that parents receive adequate information about their child's activities, and experiences at the Center through daily contacts per TLE requirement * Observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and reports these signs immediately to the Administration Staff * Inspects the classroom, and outside playground and equipment for potential safety hazards; takes corrective action and informs the administration to prevent injuries * Works as a member of the TLE team, and maintains regular communication with Center Director and Assistant Director to ensure continuity and a high standard of quality in all classrooms in the Center * Contributes to the operation of the Center by participating in staff meetings and sharing information gained through attendance at workshops * Maintains confidentiality of child and family information at all times * Professional appearance is required at all times – TLE logo polo shirt with slacks * The Owner reserves the right to add or change duties at any time Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.
