*PRIMARY FUNCTION:* Implement programs and activities provided by HEARTS (Expanded Learning) Supervisor.
Must monitor and evaluate situations using good judgment and behavior management techniques.
Create and maintain a safe environment for members and adults within the program space.
*KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):* _*Prepare Youth for Success*_ 1.
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes: * Promote and stimulate program participation with members.
* Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
* Provide homework help _*Program Implementation*_ 2.
Effectively implement and administer services and activities for students.
3.
Ensure safety of students is considered when implementing programs and activities.
4.
Ensure program space/area are organized and cleaned during and after use.
_*Supervision of Youth*_ 5.
Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model and mentor to youth.
6.
Provide a safe environment through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.
7.
Never leaving members unsupervised and implement and follow School behavioral guidelines.
_*Professionalism*_ 8.
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in staff meetings as required by supervisor or senior staff.
9.
Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks.
10.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in the organization’s Employee Handbook, Staff Code of Ethics, and elsewhere.
*ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* 11.
May participate in special programs and/or events.
*RELATIONSHIPS:* *Internal: *Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
*External: *Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
*SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:* * High School diploma or GED * Must pass School District Instructional Aide Test or have a Bachelors Degree * Experience working with children (volunteer work counts) * Able to review and implement lessons plans provided by the District * Knowledge of youth development stages.
* Early Childhood education credits a plus * Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
* Ability to deal with the general public.
* Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth.
* Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
* Interpersonal skill development and maintenance.
