Sergeant has been living in the shelter for about 2 years now and he really needs a foster home while he waits to get adopted! He is a sweet, gentle dog- very loving and affectionate.
He loves kids and all humans, cuddling, going on walks, and playing with his squeaky toys.
He's about 20 pounds and 4 years old.
**He is not dog-friendly and must be the only dog in the home.
Sergeant is a special needs pup and must wear doggie diapers when he is inside the house.
He was hit by a car while living on the streets and the spinal injury left him incontinent.
Even with his special needs, he is the happiest boy and loves life.
His disability does not keep him down!
We will provide you with a stipend of $200/month for fostering.
In addition, we will provide you with all supplies needed, including food, treats, toys, bed, kennel, medication, flea medicine, diapers, potty pads and anything else the dog needs.
You will not need to spend any money on the dog, we will provide everything he needs.
We will also find him a temporary foster if you need to go out of town for any reason.
Minimum 3-month commitment.
Ideally, you will foster him until he finds his forever home.
**This is not a boarding gig.
Sergeant should be treated like a member of the family and we are only considering true dog lovers for this foster position.
What Sergeant needs in a foster home:
- a yard or outdoor space
- a home without other dogs (he is not dog-friendly)
- a person who is home most of the day (he has separation anxiety and does not like being left home alone for long periods)
- a patient person who accepts his special needs and is not afraid to change doggie diapers
Please let me know if you might be interested and I will provide you with more information, or set up a time for you to meet Sergeant.
Our rescue is located in San Diego, but we will coordinate transport.
