Job description:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel vehices and heavy equipment.
Your expertise will ensure that our fleet of vehicles and equipment operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Keep shop clean and organized (Extremely important)
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, such as faulty fuel systems or malfunctioning electrical components
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or replacements
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot engine performance issues
- Operate heavy equipment, such as cranes or forklifts, to assist with repairs or maintenance tasks
- Align and balance wheels, replace shocks and struts, and perform other suspension-related repairs
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services performed, and parts used
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with heavy machinery or hazardous materials
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance techniques
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and software
- Experience in repairing heavy equipment, such as cranes or forklifts
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their components
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair of diesel engines
