The YMCA of Orange County is currently hiring a Camp Program Coordinator at our Camp Elk location.
The Camp Program coordinator is a key and vital member of the camp administration team and works closely with the Camp Director to provide the overall vision and establish goals for the program and department.
The Camp Coordinator is a live on-site position.
Private or semi-private housing provided depending on needs and availability.
*Responsibilities*: * Assist in Camp operations * Assist in budget development * Program development * Promotion and marketing * Staff supervision including recruitment and development, and risk management * Ensuring security of site and facilities including walking camp grounds and reporting issues to Camp Director * Works with the Camp Director to develop, revise, and modify, monthly / annual budget, for following camp operations in conjunction with the camp director and finance team.
* Create and implement a productive activity program suitable to the interest and ability of each camper.
* Develop and implement curriculum that enhances the camper’s experience.
* Inspect activity areas, ensure no hazards are present, and set boundaries.
* Follow standards (safety and programming) set forth by ACA (American Camping Association) and work as part of the team for ACA accreditation visits/compliance.

policies and procedures, safety standards and rules at all times.
* Report all accidents, illnesses and incidents to the Camp Nurse and Camp Director in a timely manner.
* Manage and coordinate user group’s camp contracts.
* Ability to maintain organized records, materials and capable of learning and implementing new systems to support the operational effectiveness of the department.
* Assist Camp Director with supervision and management of user groups and vendors.
* Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
*Education & Certification:* First Aid, CPR.
Lifeguard, and USA Archery Instructor certifications required within the first 60 days of employment *Experience & Background:* • Must be 21 years of age.
• 3 years of experience preferred.
• Financial management and budgeting experience preferred.
• Previous lifeguard/aquatic supervisor experience preferred.
• Previous experience supervising others preferred.
• Prior experience in residential camp operations and supervision of camp staff is preferred but not required.
• 3 years driving experience, clean driving record, and ability to be approved as a YMCA Association driver of all camp vehicles.
