Position Information
Under supervision from the Manager of Admissions and Student Affairs, this position is responsible for providing assistance to develop and administer programs that support the recruitment of highly qualified and diverse applicants to the UCR School of Medicine.
The incumbent will serve as the primary admissions lead for the Conditional Admittance (CA) Program designed to recruit mission fit applicants who may require additional preparation to be successful in medical school.
The primary areas of responsibility include: assist with developing and implementing an effective recruitment and outreach strategy for the CA program, preparing application materials for review by the admissions committee, supporting interview days and/or admissions committee meetings, and providing information to the public and prospective applicants on admissions requirements.
The incumbent will also serve as the primary admissions lead for our student Admissions Ambassador Program.
The incumbent will travel to and attend regional admissions fairs to support the recruitment of a highly qualified and diverse group of applicants while serving as a liaison to premedical advisors at various colleges and universities to ensure they are updated about admissions standards and requirements.
The salary range for the Admissions Coordinator II is $54,200 - $93,200 annually.
The expected pay scale for this position is up to $75,000 annually.
We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.
Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy.
All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline.
For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.
Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Required Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience.
Required Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development.
Required Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required Minimum Requirements Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
Working knowledge of UC, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective applicants and the public.
Working knowledge of admissions requirements for campus/school/college.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions.
Working knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at UC.
Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate statistical data and policy.
Demonstrated experience adapting to changing priorities, high volumes of work, and multiple deadlines; ability to independently assess and strategize how to resolve problems with available resources.
Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA federal regulations.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Knowledge of and experience using software systems in the completion of work assignments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
).
Ability to navigate ambiguity through independent problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of AMCAS, AMP, Banner and/or other student information software systems.
Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials.
Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC, and/or public institutions of higher education.
Basic knowledge of medical school/program admissions policies, procedures and practices.
