org *Position Summary* The Site Manager (SM) will report to the Director of Workforce & Education (WF & ED) to oversee the ARC Second Chance Apprenticeship Readiness Program in San Bernardino.
The ideal candidate will possess strong teamwork skills, both independently and within a team.
They should excel at task prioritization, demonstrate flexibility and good judgment, handle confidential information with integrity, and have a drive for skill development.
The PM will lead by example, exhibiting professionalism, patience, and empathy, fostering an environment for staff and members to flourish.
The primary responsibilities of this role involve supervising and mentoring Apprenticeship Readiness Life Coaches.
The SM will provide support to the ARC’s with program evaluation and reporting.
SM will actively contribute to outreach efforts by facilitating connections between members and various support meetings, retreats, outings, and community service events.
SM will engage with community partners and ensure that the program is meeting its deliverables.
*Program Overview* The ARC's Second Chance Apprenticeship Readiness Program was developed in collaboration with the LA/OC Building Trades Council, and an educational partner.
The program aims to equip formerly incarcerated individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue union apprenticeships and secure a stable, high-paying career in the building trades.
By establishing a clear pathway into the trades, we provide job training and opportunities for those who have faced significant barriers to employment.
Our goal is to empower individuals to build a better future for themselves and their families.
The Second Chance Apprenticeship Readiness Program is an 11-week initiative that aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to succeed in the workforce.
The program begins with a two-week professional and life skills training, which is conducted by ARC.
This training is designed to help participants develop the skills they need to thrive in a professional environment.
After completing the initial training, cohort members enroll in an Apprenticeship Readiness training course.
This course is delivered by an educational partner using the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) and is designed to meet union standards.
Throughout the program, cohort members receive stipends to support themselves and increase their financial literacy.
This stipend goes beyond just financial education skills, as it allows participants to transition from a transitional housing program to stable independent living.
Upon graduating from the Apprenticeship Readiness Program, cohort members receive continued wraparound support.
This includes community referrals, flexible cash resources, legal aid, and mental health services.
The goal of this support is to ensure that participants have the resources they need to succeed in their chosen career path.
*Essential Job Functions* * Directly supervises the Apprenticeship Readiness Life Coaches, providing daily supervision, reviewing case notes and documentation, and offering support with referrals and resources.
* Supports Apprenticeship Readiness Life Coaches in their professional development and helps them take on new responsibilities, such as overseeing grants, facilitating groups, and identifying training needs.
* Ensures timely completion of deliverables for Second Chance Apprenticeship Readiness Program grants and contracts, meeting all reporting deadlines.
* Participates in bi-weekly or monthly check-ins with other ARC departments.
* Maintains partnerships that support the Apprenticeship Readiness program.
* Creates, establishes, and nurtures partnerships to bolster the Apprenticeship Readiness program.
* Ensures the Apprenticeship Readiness Life Coaches complete weekly data entry, reviewing NEON at the end of each week.
* Assists in creating and adhering to budgets for new programs/projects.
* Participates in brainstorming sessions to assess the feasibility of new program opportunities.
* Supports ARC's Learning and Innovation team in program evaluation, including data collection and analysis.
* Aids in the development and mentorship of formerly incarcerated staff members for leadership positions at ARC.
* Supports the WF & ED Director in maintaining high standards of office professionalism and fostering a safe and supportive office culture.
* Performs any other tasks assigned by the WF & ED Director, Deputy Director, or Executive Director.
*Qualifications* * Bachelor's Degree required.
* At least four consecutive years of non-profit supervisory experience; or Four years of management experience with currently or formerly incarcerated individuals, including managing budgets, contracts, and supervising clinical students.
* Experience working in the juvenile or criminal justice fields.
* Management experience: Supervising staff.
* Managing contracts and budgets.
* Developing and writing reports, etc.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
* Positive attitude with a willingness to support the team.
*Skill Sets* * Highly motivated and able to multitask.
* Team spirit with trust in coworkers and excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
* Experience with case management or treatment-focused database is preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory, with the ability to work in a team.
*Salary/Benefits* * Pay rate is $60,000-$65,000.
