The Transportation Rate Analyst is responsible for carrier and lane rate analysis, quantifying opportunities for improvements, reporting and presenting rate information and reporting and managing plant to market cost and trends.
The transportation rate analyst will report directly report to the Transportation Manager, while have indirect reporting lines to other individuals within Supply Chain.
What You’ll Do:
Analyzing and Quantifying Opportunities: The Transportation Analyst will analyze current operational data to determine improvement projects and opportunities.
This individual will be solely responsible for identifying trends and creating recommendations after analyzing and synthesizing data to the Transportation Director and Logistics Analysts within the field.
This will include creating presentations and finding creative ways to present data to multiple stakeholders.
Analyze current and future state of transportation carriers including but not limited to:
Network rate structure
Localized freight procurement opportunities
P2M cost analysis
Lane volume and trend analysis
Implement Improvement Projects: The Transportation Analyst will be involved in carrier bid projects and analytical tool development.
Provide cross functional data collection and analysis
Quantify and prioritize opportunities with transportation leadership
Utilize tools to report data and trends
What You’ll Bring:
Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets to identify issues and develop solutions
Analytical skills using Microsoft Excel, SAP Business Objects, and other external data sources
Ability to collaborate and report effectively
Knowledge of supply chain, transportation, and logistics
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload while paying attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related field
1-3 years in supply chain field or analyst role
Ability to execute process improvement projects
Strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
SAP/APO/JDA experience a plus
Prior transportation experience preferred

The expected compensation range for this position is between $70,000 to $75,000.
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
This position qualifies for benefits which may also include a discretionary bonus.
