Inventory Specialist
*Purpose*
To improve inventory metrics by managing cycle counts, performing root cause analysis and maintaining accurate inventory records.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
· Perform a physical cycle count as instructed and scheduled by the Materials Manager and compare results with MRP System.
· Report discrepancies between physical and system count to Materials Manager.
· Investigate origin of discrepancies and report to Materials Manager.
· Adhere to the cycle counting procedures and guidelines (PL-PR-162).
· Maintain cycle count records and data files in conjunction with QMS Administrator.
· Perform daily activities consistent with maintaining effective inventory management procedures.
· Product/Location organization.
· Maintain clean and safe work area.
· All duties assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management.
· Responsible for understanding and executing Company goals and objectives while actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
*Qualifications*
· Education
o High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Experience
o Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
· Specialized knowledge
o Computer applications, and experience with MRP/ERP systems.
o Ability to read CAD Drawings.
· Skills
o Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations using whole numbers and fractions.
o Able to read a measuring tape to a 1/16” measurement.
· Abilities
o Able to clearly communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management.
o Demonstrated time management skills.
o Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagrammatic form.
o Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
o Written and spoken English
· Professional Certification(s)
o None.
*Working Conditions*
Manufacturing area with dust, noise, moving machinery, heat, cold and humidity (not temperature controlled).
*Physical Requirements*
Production position.
Spends the majority of the work shift walking, bending and stooping.
Generally requires clear vision at 20 inches or less for reading.
Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to carry supplies, tools and equipment throughout the workday.
Proper lifting techniques required.
May include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
