Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain heavy machinery used for scraping and excavating materials such as soil, rock, and debris.
Coordinate with other employees to ensure the work area is safe and efficient.
Help to keep the quarry organized/shoveling.
Transport production blocks, waste material, and equipment as required.
Properly follow company and MSHA safety procedures.
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment- refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor, and clean equipment.
Bring equipment/safety problems to the attention of the mining supervisor or Safety Director.
Follow daily procedures and protocols as required by the quarry supervisor.
May also be responsible for assisting with other tasks around the job site, such as manual labor, cleaning, and maintenance.
Qualifications:
Must be able to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Attention to detail.
Requires physical strength and hand-eye coordination.
The ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Strong communication skills.
Strong understanding of safety protocols
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent; Previous MSHA training is a plus.
3+ years running equipment preferred
Physical Requirements:

Lifting
Crouching
Walking
Works in many different weather conditions
