You won't find such a top-quality cabin with this jaw-dropping view anywhere in Big Bear for such an amazing nightly price.
Search through all the many Vrbo listings and find out for yourself.
Get your whole family together or a bunch of your best friends to enjoy one of the most beautiful cabins in all of Big Bear.
Drive your vehicle up the gentle curves of Eagle Mountain Road to Green Mountain Drive.
You will be at the end of a ridge-top road with the entire town below you.
Look down on thousands of pine trees without another structure in sight.
You are in the middle of the forest -- Whispering Forest to be exact -- appropriately named for this very private section of Big Bear.
You are just a 15-minute drive to the slopes.
In another five minutes, you will be in the popular Big Bear Village with its many restaurants and mom & pop shops.
The lake may be 7,000 feet above sea level, but here in Whispering Forest, the hideaway is another 1,000 feet closer to heaven -- hence its name.
Almost-to-Heaven Hideaway provides the rustic atmosphere guests seek in a mountain home, but also the conveniences one expects while on vacation.
Open the stained-glass front door, and you will -- as many other guests before you -- gasp at the view of the snow-capped southern mountain range.
This spectacular 180-degree view of both the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts can be seen through the entire south glass wall of the main floor.
It fills the great room and master bedroom suite with light In addition to its custom, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, the great room contains a large-screen television, a DVD player and a massive varnished log slab breakfast bar that lets the chef enjoy the inspiring view while preparing a meal.
The kitchen has everything you will need -- even a full range of spices and an array of pots, pans and appliances not found in other rental cabins.
There's a microwave, a coffee maker and a blender, even a slow cooker that will fill the dining area and great room with the smell of a simmering stew.
Tucked behind shuttered doors of a hallway closet is a washer and dryer you just might need during your stay.
Adjacent to the great room is the vaulted master suite, which contains a queen oak sleigh bed, a large, mirrored walk-in cedar closet plus a second flat-screen television and DVD player.
Downstairs, the other two bedrooms -- separated by the second bath -- have forest views.
One bedroom contains a queen iron bed and the other holds a set of full bunk beds that can accommodate two couples or four giggling youngsters.
The National Forest is about 500 feet from the front door of the cabin, where you will find perfect trails to hike.
Because it isn't shown on any local map, you can see inspiring views of the lake from here, but never another living soul, just rabbits and squirrels that will scamper away as soon as they hear your approaching boots.
North Shore Drive is not as congested as the south shore where most of Big Bear's commercial businesses, hotels and vacation rentals are located.
Here on this side of the lake, you are a five-minute drive to Big Bear's Discovery Center, where guides will introduce you to a Big Bear you never knew before.
They will lead you through the gentle paths and point out special features about this section of the forest.
You can also wander the quiet streets of Fawnskin where the locals will tip their hat and give you a friendly “Hi, there, folks.
” Scan some 150 reviews and read how impressed previous guests have been with the hideaway.
Nearly all of them gave it a five-star thumbs-up rating.
Also, the owner has been awarded the designation "Vrbo premier partner" because of his quick response to any request his guests have had while staying on Green Mountain Drive.
He lives only 10 minutes away, so if you can't figure out how to operate the DVR controls or can't find a utensil you really need for making dinner, he'll be over in the flash.
If there are no guests leaving the cabin on your day of arrival, or arriving on your day of departure, you can check in as soon as you reach Big Bear and check out as late as 2 pm in the afternoon.
This makes for an unhurried stay in this special place to enhance your time in Big Bear.
Hope to see you soon!
