Manufacturing company located in Ontario, CA has an immediate opening for an experienced Staff Accountant.
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities *Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Prepare and post journal entries, encompassing accruals, amortization, and allowances.
* Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and performing regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
* Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
* Conduct thorough analysis of accounts at month-end and throughout the month to identify trends and discrepancies.
* Investigate and analyze variances to understand their root causes and recommend corrective actions.
* Manage intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany accounts to ensure accurate financial consolidation.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including coding and entering transactions, responding to vendor inquiries, and preparing/checking payments.
* Prepare weekly listings of cash disbursements, including printing and matching checks.
* Maintain fixed asset records, including booking new assets, calculating depreciation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Participate in the monthly close process by preparing closing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely completion of financial reporting tasks.
* Calculate and report monthly sales tax liabilities.
Prepare and distribute 1099 forms in compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Apply customer deposits to their respective accounts, research customer shortages, and reconcile customer balances.
* Regularly review inventory costing methods to ensure accuracy in inventory valuation and financial reporting.
* Support in the preparation of weekly accounts receivable/accounts payable overviews and 13-week cash projections.
* Provide valuable support during financial audits by assisting in the preparation of documentation, weekly and monthly reports, and bank reconciliation.
* Maintain meticulous records of prepaid expenses and accruals accounts to accurately reflect financial obligations.
* Consolidate monthly financial statements to provide management with a clear understanding of the company's financial performance.
* Communicate effectively with vendors, branch personnel, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve invoice discrepancies, and obtain necessary documentation.
* Ensure all financial documentation and submissions have proper approvals in place, adhering to company policies and procedures.
* Assume any additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall objectives of the accounting department and the organization.
*Education/ Experience:* * Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
* Atleast 3-5 years of related experience.
* Manufacturing experience preferred.
*Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:* * Prior experience with ERP software required.
(5 years required) * Must be proficient with accounting software, Excel, and Word.
* General ledger and journal entry knowledge required.
(3 years required) * General business knowledge.
* Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
* Strong ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize daily duties.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Punctual, able to complete tasks, meet month-end and sensitive to deadlines.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
*Job Type: Full-time/ In-person, *Mon-Fri.
*Pay: *In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
