*POSITION SUMMARY:*
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Corporate Controller in managing the company’s accounting and financial activities.
This includes generating monthly financial statements, general ledger account reconciliations, researching and preparing various SALT tax returns, managing external auditors, integrating subsystems into the general ledger, ensuring financial compliance throughout the company, and many ad-hoc data requests.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
¯ Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
¯ Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
¯ Maintains the general ledger.
¯ Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
¯ Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
¯ Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
¯ Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
¯ Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
¯ Manages external Sales/Use Tax Service
¯ Creates and enter journal entries into the ERP system
¯ Maintain Fixed Asset and monitor for accuracy and completeness
¯ Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
¯ Prepares financial reports for plant controller
¯ Manages and approves expense reports in Concur
¯ Works with HR on Payroll/other financial related items
¯ Performs other related duties as assigned.

*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:*
¯ Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
¯ BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
*PHYSICAL / WORK ENVIRONMENT:*
¯ Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
¯ Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
¯ The position requires domestic travel less than 20% of the time.
¯ This is primarily a back office environment but there may be time in the shop to work with users and learn their processes.
¯ This position supports senior management and board reporting so there will be quick responses and deadlines such that evening or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,727.
