Overview:
This position will provide US Sales and Use tax accounting and compliance to support many departments within the company.
This role will be the primary source to provide answers to Sales tax related questions which may require research through online sources or consultants.
In working with an integrated ERP system and due to the complexity of the business this position will provide opportunities to regularly collaborate with others to help formulate, develop, and implement improvements to our processes.
Responsibilities:
Research and answer Sales/Use tax questions sourced from various co-workers, customers, suppliers, and external regulatory authorities
Assist with the preparation of data collection for monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales/Use tax return filings in various states
Support and review the timely preparation of US Sales and Use tax returns
Perform Sales/Use tax account review and reconciliations with a focus to maximize tax related refunds and correct inappropriate accounting entries
Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of the tax engine for verification and application of correct tax
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years experience with filing Sales/Use tax, or a Master's in Accounting or Finance with 3 years experience with filing Sales/Use tax
Demonstrated experience with researching tax laws and case rulings
High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, negotiating, reasoning, and problem solving
Ability to develop strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs
Recommended Qualifications:
Familiar with Sales & Use tax laws and regulations as well as filing requirements for a wide range of states
Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP software,
Experience with automated tax systems, such as SureTax, Vertex, Onesource, or other sales and use tax preparation software
Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
Ability to analyze accounts, identify issues, resolve differences and recommend process improvements

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $68,640.
