Position Information
This position provides analytical and financial support to the Department of Social Medicine, Population and Public Health (SMPPH) and Center for Healthy Communities (CHC) programs and research grants.
The support includes daily support of contracts and grants research activity and financial duties.
The position will assist the financial administrative officer (FAO) in monitoring and forecasting department and center budgets.
The salary range for the Financial Analyst - SMPPH is $59,000 - $103,400 annually.
The expected pay scale for this position is up to $92,300 annually.
We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.
Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.
Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Required Master's in Business Administration, Finance, or Public Relations.
Preferred Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience.
Required Experience working with community-based entities and/or community-investigators.
Knowledge of community-based-participatory-research principles.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of researchers.
Preferred Related experience must be in a position performing administrative, financial, and/or contract/grant analysis and/or administration.
Required Experience providing high-level administrative support to department head, center directors, or researcher principal investigators.

Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety.
Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration.
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Ability to deal with complex, confidential and sensitive issues related to the management of files.
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
