Senior Accountant

JOB The Senior Accountant is a Non-Represented Management classification responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger for all funds, and purchasing function and the reconciliation of agency bank accounts.
In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for higher level reporting, creating/reviewing budget reports, financial statements and assisting lower level staff.
Ideal Candidate: The City of Hesperia is looking for an experienced accountant with independent judgment to perform advanced government accounting functions relating to the management and internal control of the City's financial system.
The candidate will be able to work independently with minimal direction and adhere to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a high level of initiative and accountability for their work and be meticulous with their final work product.
Qualifications: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental accounting.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance or closely related field with major coursework in accounting.
Certified Public Accountant, Certified Managerial Accountant, and/or Certified Internal Auditor designations are highly desirable
