What You'll Dp: The Collections Clerk position requires a comprehensive knowledge of the commercial financing collection process, as well as a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage high-performing collections and customer service teams.
The Customer Service and Collections Manager will have an extensive knowledge of collection laws, regulations.
Maintain an understanding of customer value, policy, process and procedure along with their impact upon customers and the overall organization.
Must react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Principal Responsibilities: • Contacts and develops relationships with past due clients • Develops collection strategies and monitors past dues while developing standards, improvements or changes to positively impact past dues and customer service levels.
• Makes recommendations for changes to products or services based on customer feedback and requests.
• Manages daily collection activities, including but not limited to, reviewing past due accounts and making recommendations on accounts for repossession assignment.
• Proactively manage deteriorating trends and report any potential loss exposures in a timely manner along with developed plans to address those trends.
• Knowledge of and compliance with all collection/bankruptcy laws and regulations.
• Manages relationships with outside collection agency on defaults.
• Works with internal departments to handle collection service levels for the largest and most sensitive customer accounts.
• Offers thought leadership on trends, processes and initiatives based on monthly reports.
• Develops and ensures collection policy and procedures are followed.
• Responsible for understanding system/application, policy, and processes related to billing, fees, customer insurance, and payment posting while properly analyzing accounts payment trends.
• Understands the different types of products, support services, and transaction types to become proficient and effective in supporting customer service and collection.
Required Qualifications: • Minimum 5 to 10 years of customer service and collection experience, required • Minimum 3 to 5 years of management/supervisory experience, required • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or its equivalent, preferred • Knowledge of the rules/regulations related to collection, repossession, bankruptcy, litigation, and Fair Credit Reporting Act, a plus • Fluent in English and Spanish, preferred • Strong problem-solving and effective negotiation and communication skills • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as with all levels of the organization • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications with strong overall keyboarding and internet application skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment • Ability to multi-task and follow through Compensation: $25-26/hour depending on experience This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
