The County of Riverside's Transportation and Land Management Agency is currently hiring for an Accountant Trainee located in Riverside and assigned to the administration division,
The Accountant Trainee will be responsible for the billing of both Capital and Non-capital projects for the Transportation Department.
The incumbent should strive to become an expert in dealing with the complexities of billing these projects.
They should also be analytical in determining how to bill different types of projects comprised of various and extensive fund sources.
This position serves as an approver for other billings within the unit.
This means that the Accountant Trainee needs to be well-educated on every billing that is processed in the department.
This position requires high levels of communication with the supervisor, subordinate staff, and the Engineering team.
Competitive candidates will have experience with various types of billing.
The Accountant Trainee is a natural progression underfill for the Accountant I.
Incumbents are eligible to promote to the Accountant I class after obtaining a satisfactory performance evaluation and meeting the education and experience requirements.
Failure to promote to the Accountant I will result in incumbents either being returned to their former County job classification or new hires being released prior to the end of their initial probationary period.
