Beautiful pencil sharpener by AW Faber, model Janus 4046, made in Germany between 1935 and 1940.
In its front part it retains its original blade.
On its back it has the inscriptions '4046' 'AW Faber' 'Janus' 'Germany'.
In the center it has a 'scale' as a logo.
The sides are grooved, in order to improve their grip.
They were made with two aspects, using different materials.
Some were made of brass and others of aluminium.
This type of pencil sharpener was used by drawing professionals, such as architects or engineers, therefore being a high-quality pencil sharpener.
For all these reasons, it had a high price and a relatively limited number of units were manufactured.
