*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
Must be 18 years of age and provide evidence of a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Units.
Prior to employment, candidate must provide TB test showing negative or non-active results, as well as a fingerprint clearance.
The employee is required to become CPR and First Aid Certified within the first 90 days of employment.
(Fingerprint clearance and First Aid classes are offered at Immanuel’s expense.
) If the employee has not completed the above requirements within the given time frame, they will not be allowed to come back to work until they are in compliance.
*PURPOSE:*
To serve the church by providing a loving, Christian environment to the students of Immanuel Lutheran Preschool; supporting the director; and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the children, while supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School (see attached).
Instruct and prepare students for kindergarten.
*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
1.
Comply with California Licensing Regulation Title 22 at all times.
Including but not limited to ratio numbers; min.
of 12 ECE Units; current CPR and First Aid Certification.
2.
Coordinate with other pre-kindergarten teacher(s) to prepare and implement age appropriate lesson plans for the class within written vision and direction of the director and Immanuel Lutheran Preschool.
3.
Provide instructional leadership with daily activities.
4.
Be able to work well as a team.
5.
Be a Christian role-model representing Immanuel Lutheran.
6.
Be flexible and able to adapt.
7.
Monitor children for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning and playing environment.
8.
Administer minor first aid.
9.
Perform housekeeping for the purpose of maintaining a safe, orderly and sanitary environment.
10.
Confer with parents, children, staff, supervisors, etc.
for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information.
12.
Report observations and incidents (e.
g.
accidents, inappropriate behavior, violations of rules, etc.
) for the purpose of communicating information to the director.
13.
Participate in various meetings (e.
g.
staff development, staff meetings, etc.
) for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving ones skills and knowledge.
14.
Perform other job related duties as assigned for the purpose of supporting the director and staff.

SKILLS: Must be focused and alert to meet the changing conditions.
KNOWLEDGE: Required to diligently enforce safety rules and California Licensing Regulations.
