*SUMMARY *
Our dynamic Hospitality Team strives to create a pleasurable dining experience for all guests and prides itself on exceptional food quality and outstanding customer service.
The Hotel Steward is primarily responsible for assisting in the cleanliness of the kitchen, service pantry, silver, china glassware and support room service operations.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
Maintains all culinary work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Ensures that the kitchen is in compliance with cleanliness and appearance standards while on duty.
Understands chemical usage and appropriate food handling practices.
Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators with approved cleaners and equipment.
May be asked to take inventory, places orders and receives orders on each shift.
Is able to work different shifts and adhere to the responsibilities or the kitchen when called upon.
Practices safe food handling and sanitation duties as directed by management.
Demonstrates willingness to assist other team members as needed without being asked.
Follows up on projects in a timely manner and complies with departmental policies as well as with company rules, regulations, and policies set forth in the employee handbook.
Reports any equipment malfunctions; maintains station in a neat and orderly manner.
Reports any problems or concerns to their immediate supervisor.
May be asked to perform room service duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS*
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in cleaning, preferably in a hotel.
*CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS *
Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card within 90 days of employment.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT*

Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
This position requires walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, crouching and stooping.
Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are: Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
Strength sufficient to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests and employees.
Use close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
