Relays instructions to personnel, sets work pace, assign tasks and gets work started.
Demonstrates work methods and provides training and work-related guidance for lower grade workers.
Ensures that workers have the necessary tools and equipment to perform the assigned duties.
Reviews and spot checks work in progress and upon completion to ensure proper quality of work is performed.
Corrects any discrepancies that are found.
Ensures employees follow security, safety and good housekeeping practices.
Ensures that materials and equipment are properly and safely stored, protected and maintained.
Informs supervisors of work progress, operating problems, need for supplies and equipment, actual or potential delays and similar items.
May assist supervisor in scheduling of housekeepers.
May make minor repairs, as required, to cleaning equipment.
Maintains supplies and inventory records.
May be required to perform any of the following duties; makes beds, changes sheets, towels and other linen.
Thoroughly cleans rooms to include dusting, waxing and polishing furniture, woodwork, fixtures, sweeping floors, vacuuming and shampooing rugs, emptying ashtrays and wastebaskets, cleaning stoves, sinks and mirrors.
Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatory basins, bathtubs, showers, exposed plumbing fixtures, urinals, and toilet bowls.
Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue and soap.
Change light bulbs and cleans light globes.
Removes trash from various waste containers in units and grounds to outside trash receptacles.
May use a ladder to wash walls, windows, dust drapes and blinds.
Sweeps and mops floors, corridors and stairways.
May be required to move heavy furniture, supplies and equipment.
Turns mattresses, sanitizes all fixtures and bedding with disinfectant and services each room daily with soap, cups, coffee, etc.
Reports missing or broken articles to supervisor.
Occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers.
Washes and replaces venetian blinds and washes ceiling fixtures.
Complies with fire, safety, sanitation and security rules and regulations.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.
Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.
Takes action to solve problems quickly.
Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Ability to use various industrial-type equipment, to include performing minor maintenance on equipment.
RESPONSIBILITY: Performs duties independently within the framework of prescribed procedures.
Works with specific oral and written instructions.
Assigns duties to personnel and ensures they are completed correctly and in the allotted time given.
Checks with supervisor when situations arise that have any questionable aspects to the tasks.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work involves light to heavy physical effort, continual walking, standing, bending, stooping and reaching.
Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is typically performed indoors, in areas that normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation, however some duties required are outside and will expose incumbent to varying types of weather.
May be exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors, chemicals and cleaning solutions and receive minor cuts and bruises.
Powered cleaning equipment may cause vibration during handling.
