*Position Summary*
Provide dental assistance services for Center for Oral Health’s clinical programs.
The RDA is the liaison between the dentist and the patient.
He/she will maintain communication with the dentist, patient, and the front office staff to ensure that all patients receive a positive experience.
The RDA is responsible for assisting dentists and hygienists on and as needed/assigned basis.
This may include helping with clinical duties allowed by law in the provision of services in community- and school-based programs, and Clinic Locations.
Due to the broad scope of this project, the RDA works closely with project liaisons from COH partners and other designated sites.
He or she may provide assistance with content, products, coding and billing.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* *Program:* Ensure program goals are met.
Ensures lessons learned are documented.
Assist with data collection for billing, evaluation and reporting purposes.
Work closely with Management and provides technical assistance with content, products, coding and billing.
Work closely with Management to assist in the coordination and management of data collection activities.
Maintain a system for ongoing data collection and monitoring.
Assist the organization in developing relationships with external stakeholders.
Inform program design and assist with needs assessment.
Ensure that the program team and other external stakeholders receive information in a timely manner.
May represent the organization in meetings.
*Clinical: * Provide dental assistance under the direction of the Dental Director and/or assigned responsible dentist/hygienist.
Complete referrals, data collections instruments and other records or paper works as shall be required from time to time by COH.
Educate individuals in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health and prevention of dental disease.
Responsible for personal as well as organizational full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dental assistance relating to, but not limited to, work place safety, public health and confidentiality.

_ *Education and Training* Completion of accredited training program for Dental Assistants.
*Experience* A minimum of two (2) years of previous experience with similar community-based project is required.
Previous experience in working with billing software.
*Language Skills* Bilingual skills in Spanish _(English-Spanish)_ are strongly preferred Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
*Computer Skills* Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access) for email, data access, budgeting, reporting, and navigation of COH’s computer systems.
*Certificates, Licenses and Registrations* Unrestricted license to practice as RDA in the State of California Valid California Driver License and Automobile Liability Insurance.
*Other Requirements* Must complete and submit documentation of the DOJ Live Scan process (Department of Justice) to obtain clearance to work in the County of Los Angeles.
TB Screening: upon hire and periodically thereafter.
TB clearance is a strict requirement for this position.
*Travel Requirements* Must have reliable transportation and travel locally to various locations where COH programs are implemented.
Travel may be required on a local level.
*Physical Demands* _The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The ability to distinguish letters and symbols, as well as the ability to utilize telephones, computer terminals, and copiers is required.
