Moffatt & Nichol is actively seeking a Marine Structural Engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience.
You may be seated in either our: Long Beach, Costa Mesa, or Ontario, CA office(s), this position will include management, supervision and training of junior structural engineering staff and will be responsible to lead engineering, planning, design, and analysis activities for waterfront, port and maritime infrastructure projects.

Lead and manage projects, including cost estimates, budgets, scheduling and documentation preparation, support and evaluation Recommend contracting strategies Construction support Resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspection Design detailed plans and structural analysis Perform finite element static and dynamic structural modeling of structures Prepare design concepts, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates Calculates quantity estimates Coordinate plan details with drafting technicians Prepares inspection reports as needed Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; required Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; required PE registration required, SE registration or ability to obtain SE; preferred 10 to 15 years of related waterfront structural experience in engineering design and project management; required Proven ability to implement and manage both small and large scale projects Proven success in leading people and managing resources Strong communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships Must be willing and able to travel for projects Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) certification in the Port Engineering category is preferred Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 Base Salary Range: $112,700 to $148,800 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in California Working conditions: This position works primarily in an office setting; some client and field visits and occasional out-of-state travel to other M&N offices.
Physical requirements: Majority of work is office based.
Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
Some occasional travel may be required.
