Duties
As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-11 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of complex Radio and Television Broadcast and Information Technology systems, networks and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information security programs, policies, procedures and tools.
- Provides management advisory services and guidance on complex IT security issues, providing suggestions on how best to resolve issues and interpret guidance consistent with the established DoD position.
- Performs in-depth analyses of system development plans to ensure that security requirements and specifications are effectively implemented and security features are sufficiently rigorous to provide adequate levels of protection the systems life cycle.
- Implements network security guidelines, conducts periodic reviews for compliance.
- Evaluates new security authentication technologies such as public key infrastructure certificates, secure cards, and biometrics, recommends the purchase of application software, and monitors implementation.
