Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California.
Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children’s and family programs.
IF currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.
Job Description
The Driver is responsible for transporting Clients to and from destinations and ensuring Clients have all necessary paperwork/documents needed for appointments.
The Driver will use a company vehicle to perform job-related duties.
The pay rate for this position is $18.
50 per hour.
This position qualifies for shift differential of $1.
00 for swing shift and $2.
00 for graveyard shift.
Responsibilities
Review transportation calendar for accuracy and ensure detailed information is provided as needed.
Coordinate and manage time to ensure all Clients arrive at their appointments on time.
Work with site staff (case management and/or medical) to ensure clients are reminded of their transportation
appointment(s).
Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays by using navigation applications to determine the best route.
Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations.
Sanitize & remove all trash from vehicle(s) after each trip.
Check vehicle(s) prior to transport to ensure the vehicle has gas and is ready for use
Work with Culinary Staff to ensure brown bag meals are provided to clients who will miss meal time(s).
Track and submit all required documentation as indicated to the transportation department including but not limited to gas receipts, incident reports, etc.
Responsible for maintaining a clean vehicle by weekly washing and vacuuming vehicle(s)
Responsible for completing the weekly inspections and mileage reports.
Report to Site Supervisor during downtime to assist with facility tasks
Notify Supervisor and Associate Manager of Transportation regarding any issues during transport.
Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year minimum of customer service/ relevant experience
Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in
spreadsheets.
Preferred:
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Proficiency in Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
