Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Casual Driver operates a tractor/trailer or straight truck in accordance with all DOT regulations to transport product safely and legally from the Distribution Centers to vendor destinations.
This position operates on an “as needed” basis up to 1560 hours per year for local deliveries but may include occasional overnight stays.

Deliver freight within scheduled routes, pulling 48’-53’ trailers.
Ensures that product is delivered within a timely manner and that product is secured and arrives to destination undamaged and in their original condition
Performs a full pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor/trailer
Maintains driver daily logs, along with other documents as required by DOT and management
Communicates any delivery issues and / or damaged product to management immediately
Driver may be asked to deliver and unload/load medical equipment to hospitals
Keep equipment fueled
Reports any unsafe conditions, injury, or damage to management
Parks and organizes trailers in the warehouse yard
Safely backs various size trailers into assigned dock / yard spaces, engages dock locks, and / or chocks
Coordinates with warehouse on trailer movements.
Prioritizes movements to ensure no down time for warehouse associates
Required to follow company policy, participate in required trainings, and keep truck clean
Operates all equipment in a safe manner, observing all traffic regulations
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have CDL Class-A
Must have 2 years of tractor / trailer driving experience
Must be able to operate a manual transmission
Clean MVR & PSP
Must be registered in the National Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse with a clear record
Stable employment history
Employment verifications will be completed to verify driver has adequate experience and to verify driving history with former employers
Must have strong, excellent customer service and communications skills
Must be able to push, pull, and remove equipment from racks and position equipment in designated area
Pallet-jack experience preferred
Distribution/warehouse experience preferred
