46 Annually Location: Yucaipa, CA Job Type: Department: Fire Technology Job Number: 2324-01320 Closing: 2/25/2024 11:59 PM Pacific Job Description SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time tenure track position teaching Fire Technology (FIRET).
Crafton is actively seeking to increase the number of faculty of color so that we may create a workforce that more closely mirrors our students and our service area.
For example, Crafton has a much lower percentage of Full-Time faculty of color (21%) than students (54%) of color.
Our goal is to create a workforce that is inclusive of race, sexual orientation, gender, values, different backgrounds, political, and religious beliefs.
Accordingly, the successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to integrating equity and inclusion in all aspects of their work.
The primary teaching assignment involves teaching Fire Technology courses, which may include courses within the basic training academy.
Responsibilities also include curriculum development, program planning, professional development activities, and participation in shared governance committees.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Incorporate equitable teaching practices within all courses taught within the disciplines.
Teaching assigned courses in a manner consistent with academic professionalism, departmental standards, and course outlines of record Performing duties related to program review, curriculum design and planning Participate in campus and departmental activity that encourages students to pursue computer science and computer information systems.
Use teaching methods that promote peer support for academic achievement, meeting the needs of a diverse student population.
Maintain regular office hours.
Assess Student Learning Outcomes and plan for improvement.
Maintain and submit accurate records.
Work collaboratively with other faculty to develop and improve curriculum to support student success.
Actively participate in shared governance and individual faculty responsibility outside of the classroom.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience directly related to teaching assignment OR an Associate's degree and six (6) years of professional experience directly related to teaching assignment OR the equivalent.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in Fire Technology, Emergency Management, or related field.
One year teaching experience in Fire Technology at the college level State Registered Instructor in good standing with State Fire Training (or Registered State Fire Training Instructor) A State Fire Training Certified Skills and/or Lead Evaluator for IFSAC Testing Physical Demands and Working Environment The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
