JOB SUMMARY The Field Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and administration of the general policies of the Palm Desert Field Education Program within the School of Social Work including student recruitment, field instruction and support, performance evaluation, internship placement, tracking and statistical analysis, and retention support.
The Field Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Field to manage, train, and support Faculty Field Liaisons.
The Field Coordinator will work with the School's Director of Field education and agency representatives to develop field placements and learning experiences for Palm Desert students that meet School of Social Work requirements and execute affiliation agreements.
The Field Coordinator will assist with the development and implementation of on-campus and online training for field instructors and on-campus Field Orientations.
The Field Coordinator will provide representation of the School of Social Work at local, regional, state and national meetings.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES Administration All Field Coordinator positions fall under the general supervision of the Director of the School of Social Work.

The Field Coordinator will work with the School's Director of Field education and agency representatives to develop field placements and learning experiences for Palm Desert students that meet School of Social Work requirements and execute affiliation agreements.
This may include: Developing affiliation agreements with field placement agencies and ensuring that the agencies have qualified field instructors.
Developing between 5-15 new sites per year in designated region and complete all required document with onboarding the agency.
Monitoring sites and compliance with contract Reviewing and renewing agency/University affiliation contracts as needed Completing electronic and paper documentation needed in support of the Field Education Program The Field Coordinator will assist with the development and implementation of on-campus and online training for field instructors.
The Field Coordinator will provide online and on-campus Field Orientations The Field Coordinator will provide representation of the School of Social Work at local, regional, state and national meetings The Field Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned Student Interaction/Performance The Field Coordinator will serve as a faculty liaison and be responsible for teaching at least two sections of students in field work based on WTU allocation.
This includes: monitoring student progress in field placement and facilitating an integrative seminar; and, meeting at least one time per semester (and as needed) with the field instructors and students.
The Field Coordinator will mentor students and intervene as needed, either online or on campus and provide feedback to Field Director.
Academic/Curriculum The Field Coordinator will work with School of Social Work faculty and agency field instructors to develop and ensure that the CSWE competencies upon which the MSW and BASW program are based are integrated into classroom, seminar curriculum and agency learning experiences The Field Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Field Education to maintain and update field seminars annually and as needed The Field Coordinator will teach seminars which will include competency-based lectures, group discussion, and skill development with students.
The Field Coordinator will be assigned training to develop and maintain.
Community Collaboration The Field Coordinator will regularly engage and collaborate with current agencies and community partners to build, strengthen, and maintain relationships.
The Field Coordinator will regularly engage and collaborate with current agencies and community partners to provide necessary support and problem solve as needed.
The Field Coordinator will collaborate with agencies to ensure that competencies are being integrated into the field practicum experience; assist in planning for trainings; and ensure the appropriate placements of students.
The Field Coordinator will conduct outreach activities as needed.
Department and University Collaboration The Field Coordinator will be involved in school/university committees as they relate to field education issues.
The Field Coordinator will participate in faculty meetings, curriculum committee meetings, field committee meetings, admissions committee, and other committee's as assigned The Field Coordinator will attend and co-facilitate monthly Field Liaison meetings and attend bi-weekly Field Coordinator meetings.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Degree in hand by time of appointment.
Applicants are required to have a Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited social work program.

experience preferred.
Familiarity in communicating and teaching in person and in an online environment desirable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued.
Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.
