Matisse Azul Rainbolt and the Step-By-Step Folklorico team are hiring talented, energetic, passionate dance instructors to teach ballet folklorico dance during after school hours at our local schools.
Our ideal candidate will be outgoing, reliable, and able to effectively engage and lead classes of up to 20 students at a time.
You do NOT have to be available every day of the week and you do NOT need to know the folklorico dance.
So, whether you have years of dancing and/or dance instructor experience or you are just starting to dance or have a passion for dancing, you could make an impact in our local communities.
Ultimately, our successful dance instructor will create an inclusive and positive environment that fosters creativity and a love for dance.
*WE PROVIDE:*
Training in how to run the after-school classes, lesson plans and dance instruction.
_ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_
* Teach dance for youth in grades K-12.
* Teach dance routines and techniques.
* Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* A desire to continuously learn and improve your own dance skills and teaching techniques.
* Dedication, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement in dance skills taught.
* Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dancers and instructors.
_EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: _
* 1 Years of successful experience working with children.
* 1 year of experience in some type of genre of dance or 1 year of experience in ballet Folklorico.
* Classroom teaching experience preferred.
* Ballet de Folklórico dance experience preferred.
* Travel will be required, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
* Willing to do a background check and drug screen.
_Preferred Skills/Abilities _
* Proven experience in some type of dance.
* Exceptional ability to teach and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
* Experience with instructional strategies and techniques for English Learners, GATE, and Special Education.
* Some Knowledge of Mexican culture.
* Fluent in English & Spanish preferred.
Must pass a background and drug test.
