Job Opportunity:
Under the general supervision of the After School Safety/Education (ASES) Coordinator, with in input from the school Principal, Instructional Tutor/Aides will be responsible for supporting and implementing the various facets of the ASES grant.
The Tutor/Aide will provide supervision, behavior management, snacks, academic support, and enrichment activities for students in the After School Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to Volunteers of America Policy and Procedures.
Perform instructional support activities such as the presentation of lessons for students.
Support students in the completion of their homework.
Prepare instructional materials and lessons for general and special needs.
Organize and teach learning and enrichment activities.
Organize and teach enrichment activities.
Assist students in using instructional materials and equipment.
Perform clerical activities such as maintaining and organizing student records, student materials.
Prepare student work areas.
Supervise students to ensure safety.
Improving student learning and social skills.
Provide a safe learning environment.
Improve attendance for the after school program and regular instructional day.
Develops and delivers effective lesson plans.

Required Credentials, Abilities and Experience:
Must pass background check for the state of California.
Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and pass company underwriting for driving approval.
Must possess a high school diploma.
Must be computer literate.
Must be able to work well with children.
Ability to operate independently.
Must possess organizational skills.
Must have the ability to interact with staff, the public, parents, and students.
Must have excellent command of the English language - oral, written and business writing skills.
