POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for completing the training process for teaching children and/or adults how to ski and/or snowboard, while providing support to all Ski and Ride School departments in order to create a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES At least eighteen (18) years old Be an effective communicator who acts as an ambassador of service for the Company internally to staff and externally to guests with respect and maturity Capacity to read, understand, and comply with documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and guest policies Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment Able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Follow all Company and Department Safety Policies and Procedures.
Attend orientations, training, and safety meetings, as well as exhibit the application and retention of all material presented.
Demonstrate the ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as further development of professional skills, teaching ability, and knowledge.
Exhibit willingness to perform other duties as assigned or assist in efforts outside of department as needed.
Enforce safe "on-mountain" behavior as it applies to BBMR's "On-Mountain Education and Awareness Program".
Understand and follow procedures for the timely reporting of incidents/accidents.
Follow all safety procedures with regard to chairlift riding, operation and student participation on the moving carpets, in addition to acknowledging the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
Complete the training for the Ski and Snowboard School programs needed to create a new generation of winter enthusiasts, while reducing potential injuries and enhancing guest satisfaction.
Promote positive guest service by acting as an ambassador of goodwill and information.
Completion of the On-Hill Skier and/or Snowboarder Certification, depending on discipline.
Completion of the required Ski and Ride School training checklist.
Pass the appropriate clearance card for each level of skill-based lessons specific to each discipline.
Encourage our guests/students to continue their ski or snowboard education by exhibiting a friendly and professional demeanor.
WORKING CONDITIONS Mental strain and fatigue may occasionally be caused by trying to resolve tenant issues, meeting deadlines, and balancing the wants and needs of the departmental staff.
Handling emergency situations and working in adverse weather conditions may cause additional mental strain.
Physical hazards include walking up and down steep stairways or driving on surfaces that may be wet/frozen and slippery, as well as exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases.
Physical strain may also be caused by lifting or movement of heavy objects, as well as repetitive fine motor activities.
