The following is my review of the services offered by Cesar Cazares located in Fontana, CA.
Although he was a kind and jovial man, his services were highly dissatisfactory.
I’m writing this review so that those who might choose to hire him know what they may encounter.
The following will be the many negative things I experienced with him when I hired him to put a retaining wall and pour concrete in my basement up here in Crestline, CA.
⁃ He showed up unprepared with only one worker, no masks, no buckets (for taking out the dirt), ventilation to aerate the enclosed basement, came about an hour late and left very early (about 2:30 p.
m.
).
⁃ He underestimated the bid by $1,700, the time it would take to do it, and seemed to be ignorant on how concrete works here on the mountain (the Robertson’s plant charges more than most plants down the hill).
⁃ I still offered to hire him but on 11/19, the day after they did their first day of labor and gave me a new price, but he stopped answering my text messages and calls for the next 5 days (as of 11/26)
⁃ Yet my biggest complaint, is that when we had still accepted continuing on with him (a bad idea on my part), my wife paid him $830 for material and he instead paid himself $450 (which was $40/hour for 2 people digging out dirt/rocks for 5 and a 1/2 hours - 30% of those hours were spent taking breaks since they didn’t bring the proper equipment i.
e.
masks)
⁃ He did this without us agreeing on a payment for labor despite me asking if we could discuss a fair price.
I’ve called and texted and he still hasn’t responded
Cesar still seems to be a good family man with a big heart.
I mean that sincerely.
But the professionalism he showed on this job, or lack thereof, brought me to the point of feeling the need to write this very transparent review.
My wife and I just got married and I’m a full time student and this is our first home so this was a decent blow to our morale.
I seldom write reviews like this but here it is.
I hope this helps something like this from happening to you.
Feel free to message me if you have any other questions.
