The Sustainability and Compliance Manager is a role responsible for all aspects of “Green” Program design and execution.
They will lead the company in regard to zero emissions commercial vehicles (electric, natural gas, hydrogen, propane, etc.
) and advancements and available programs and incentives to effectively execute our strategy in this space.
Their primary responsibility will be Grant writing, management, monitoring and reporting.
Their focus will be on commercial equipment funding for alternative fuel equipment such as Zero Emission Vehicles and the related charging infrastructure.
This role will manage team members responsible for equipment license, registration, fuel tax and permits.
Core Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage, Monitor, and Complete Reporting on Existing Grant/Sustainability Programs.
This includes ensuring compliance with all program-related requirements for funds awarded and future fundings:
CA Air Resource Board - CORE (Clean Off Road Equipment)
CA Air Resource Board – Advanced Clean Fleets Program Requirements
California HVIP (Hybrid and Zero Emissions Truck and Bus Project)
SCE Charge Ready Program for Charging Infrastructure in California
LCSF Low Carbon Fuel Standard Program
Various other currently active funding programs
Research, Monitor, Apply and secure additional funding through incentive programs in and out of the State of California.
Monitor advancements in rapidly expanding zero emissions technology and related grants or other available funding for equipment and infrastructure.
Grant writing and submission to successfully secure additional funding.
Includes monitoring and reporting on programs after awarded.
Training, Development and Support for Sales Team and Customers on ZEV and Related Campaigns
Develop and deliver training material to the sales team as it relates to selling alternative fuel vehicles, programs, and charges/infrastructure relative to the WAIRE Program.
Participate in customer facing meetings and presentations to support the education and understanding of the benefits of ZEV equipment.
Assist Sales and Marketing team to create collateral material, social media campaigns, and related branding efforts.
Develop and deliver training material to the sales team as it relates to selling alternative fuel vehicles, programs, and chargers/infrastructure relative to:
Lonestar EV
Evolectric
Freightliner
Refrigerated Trucks and Trailers
Electric APUs
Various Others
Developing Strong Business Partnerships with Government Regulatory Agencies
California Air Resource Board
Cal Start
Air Quality Management Districts
Carl Moyer Programs
Others as Identified that support the current and future voucher and grant programs.
Leadership and Management of the License, Registration and Fuel Tax Team
Hire, Develop, Train and Lead team member responsible for Vehicle License and Registration on our fleet of 3,000 units.
Hire, Develop, Train and Lead team member responsible for International Fuel Tax Association Reporting, overweight permits, and various other support functions.
Collaborate with the Leadership team in terms of the company strategy and branding for our “Green Programs” and related initiatives.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
3-5 Years Experience in Grant Program Writing, Management & Reporting.
Completion of Undergraduate Degree Program.

Extensive experience in research, application, securing and administration of grant programs.
General understanding of license, registration and fuel tax reporting practices
Excellent business acumen and experience in collaborating with funding agencies.
Strong administration, organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office.
A high level of business ethics and confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
The flexibility and willingness to learn.
The ability to work as part of a team.
The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
