Manage a criminal caseload under the direct supervision of an attorney.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case procedures and processes both in English and in Spanish.
Conduct research regarding relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles.
Analyze case documents and prepare motions and other legal documents.
Must be able to meet deadlines, handle confidential information professionally and with discretion, and display strong interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and can effectively manage multiple competing demands and assignments with minimal supervision.
Occasionally drive and deliver client applications to the post office and court clerk.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
* Manage attorney schedule efficiently (attorney-client meetings, court appearances, etc.
)
* Process criminal cases for trial preparation including legal documents, data entry, and correspondence.
* Complete a daily court calendar and issues discovery to attorneys.
* Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.
* Communicate with law enforcement individuals at the federal, state, and local levels, the general public, and victims and witnesses in criminal cases.
* Request criminal history documentation including national, state, and local criminal histories, booking photos, arrest records, and Bureau of Motor Vehicle records.
* Investigate facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records and internet sources, to prepare cases.
* Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents.
* File pleadings with court clerk.
* Meet with clients, gather personal statement, and provide regular case updates; notate all communication in case management software.
* Schedule appointments, send out regular reminders, gather outstanding correspondence.
* Manage full file process: gather all documents, prepare and file legal documents, organize and maintain hard paper files in order and ensure the integrity of all original documents, and ensure file is completed, finalized, and mailed to the relevant agency.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
* Proactively provide exceptional customer service and support to clients, internal staff, and other third parties.
* Use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) to manage files electronically.
* Use case management software to record all case activities and manage files.
* Enter all work activity (initial and completion) time in case management software, and record time worked through record keeping software.
* Monitor and self-assess personal performance and make improvements or take corrective action.
* Care for office equipment, such as computer, printer, shredder, and phone system.
* Other duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Associate degree or equivalent education in Business and/or training, or related field and (2) to (4) years of progressive experience in a law office preferred.
* Excellent fluency in speaking, reading, and writing both English and Spanish and a solid understanding of cultural nuances of the Spanish language when translating written material.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional service in both English and Spanish.
* Ability to observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
* High level of learning agility committed to professional growth.
* Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
