Table Rock Capital (“TRC”), a private equity firm focused on investments in U.
S.
infrastructure, is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee the management of a 30-year concession contract encompassing the water and wastewater systems for a city of 110,000 people in the greater Los Angeles region (50 miles east of LA).
In late 2012, TRC closed a public-private partnership (P3) concession, the first-of-its-kind transaction in the U.
S.
, to manage the city’s water and wastewater system and provide all capital improvement needs for 30 years.
TRC partners with Veolia Water to provide the on-the-ground operations, maintenance, billing, collections, and customer service and execute a $130 million capital improvement plan.
The Asset Manager is TRC’s leader in overseeing operations, strategic direction, relationship management, contract compliance, and financial reporting to support the concession.
This is a position requiring diverse adaptability; impeccable attention to detail across disciplines of finance and accounting, communications, and contract compliance; and the ability to manage multiple objectives and interests with agility, accountability, creativity and humor.
The Asset Manager position is a flexible onsite/offsite half time position.
When onsite the job co-locates in the offices of Veolia Water and will additionally interact with independent engineering firms, lawyers, CPAs and bookkeepers, structured finance professionals, equity investors, and the concession’s Board of Directors.
There is typically no required travel outside of visting the City of Rialto and an occasional water or wastewater conference in California.
The Asset Manager will interact with city staff and elected officials on a regular basis, will provide leadership in multi-party problem-solving, and will help define the asset management performance of a groundbreaking model in public-private partnerships.
The Asset Manager will be consulted for input on the design and development of similar transactions nationally.
*Desired Skills and Experience*
* BA/BS required; MA/MS/MBA/MEng desired
* Contractors license desired
· 3-5 years successful asset management experience (utility/energy specific experience desired)
* Strong analytical abilities, exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence
* Team player, self-motivated, responsible, accountable and mature
* Ability to review and understand complicated legal documentation
* Experience working with outside CPAs, legal counsel, independent engineers, O&M service providers
* Experience working with public agencies and officials
* Able to lead meetings of diverse stakeholders and present management reports
* Proficiency in memo/report writing and presentation creation
* Financial budgeting experience a must
* Financial modeling experience a plus
