Job Description:
This position is responsible for the oversight of all production on the Wash Line and Pellet Line.
They are responsible for supervising and leading 20-25 production employees on their designated shift.
They are to maintain the highest standards regarding all safety policies and procedures as well as general housekeeping procedures.
This position reports directly to the Production Manager.
We have 4 alternative work shifts (AWS).
Work schedules:
1st shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm (M - TH).
2nd shift: 6:00pm - 4:30am (M - TH).
Night shift pays .
50cents/hourly shift differential.
3rd shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm (TH - S).
4th shift: 6:00pm - 4:30am (TH - S).
Night shift pays .
50cents/hourly shift differential.
Job Functions:
Experience supervising 20-25 employees on your shift making sure that they are working safely and productively.
Must be able to delegate tasks to your employees and manage their progress.
Managing the Production lines and working with Maintenance and Management when issues arise.
Completing the proper documentation and recording relevant information throughout the shift such as employee updates, production numbers, safety issues etc.
Also responsible for checking all the team’s paperwork before submission making sure it is accurate.
Regularly communicate with the Production Manager, Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, and HR Manager on different things such as accurate productions reports, manufacturing equipment, staffing needs, production issues, etc.
Is willing to flex and rotate as necessary and work well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
Understands 6S principles for assigned areas.
Sets up and operates manufacturing equipment.
Maintains clean room standards per standard operating procedure.
understands and adheres to safety policies and practices to maintain a clean, safe and health conscious work environment.
Process time cards electronically for employees each week noting absences, vacations, time off requests etc.
Make regular rounds to check on safety of employees and conditions of the facility/equipment.
Team Leader must be able to address issues if they are discovered.
Meet with the employees at the beginning of the shift to complete safety talks and go over other relevant information.
Responsible for completing performance reviews with your employees as well as issuing disciplinary actions if needed.
Job Requirements:
Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
Must be able to complete written records appropriate to the job.
Must be able to work from written instructions and supervisory direction.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stoop ,bend, ascend/descend stairs/ladders, and stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to work in a high noise manufacturing environment, tolerate dust and loud noise from machinery while exposed to the outside temperatures/environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment.
Education/Training/Experience:
High School Diploma required.
College education preferred.
3-4 years supervision and managing personnel experience required.
will provide training.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
