Reporting to the Vice President, the Associate Director, Community Educational Partnerships is responsible for the internal and external communication strategy, execution, and delivery of educational services for the department, inclusive of the Tribal school, afterschool programming, and department supported events.
Additionally, the Associate Director serves as a liaison between tribal government and enterprise operations to ensure a clear, consistent, and supportive communication strategy for the Tribe in all events related to the Education Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.
Coordinates all external cultural requests including neighborhood schools and community venues.
Develops and maintains an internal tracking and reporting system and for the department to share external requests on a quarterly basis with the Education Board.
2.
Communicates with external partners to support cultural requests such as Bird Singing.
Serves as the primary contact for Bird Singers to coordinate transportation, parking, and other travel needs for these events.
3.
Supports and prepares Tribal citizens for external cultural presentations, including gathering materials and accompanying Tribal citizens to speaking engagements and events.
4.
Develops and maintains specialized programming through the Tribal internship that explicitly ties to the pathway for Language Bearers in the community in support of the Tribe’s 2040 Vision in relation to language revitalization.
5.
Collaborates as a representative of the Tribe to support events and activities with intertribal organizations such as Inter Tribal Sports, Dream the Impossible, Southern California Tribal Chairmans Associations, School Visits for Tribal Educational Departments, and Tribal Youth Gathering University Partnerships.
6.
Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient operation of department.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of 5 years of direct support and service to a Tribal community is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Tribal community youth is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
Must be willing and capable to learn the Serrano language.

A qualified candidate/employee must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the enterprise’s insurance carrier.
