Position Summary/Position
Under the direction of the Internal Controls Manager, the Internal Controls Supervisor is responsible for leading and conducting internal audits to identify risks, establish controls and assess the control environment of significant business processes.
Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) 1.
Lead financial and operational audits of key business processes and make recommendations for improvement.
2.
Lead in-line audits of key business processes such as cash disbursements, purchasing, expense reimbursements and payroll.
3.
Perform root cause analysis when control breakdowns are identified.
4.
Lead audits of and monitor new and recently improved internal controls for adherence to recommendations.
5.
Create audit reports that summarize audit findings and recommendations.
6.
Lead preparation of annual internal audit plan.
7.
Identify areas of opportunity for control enhancements.
8.
Promote teamwork and maintain effective working relationships with others throughout the organization.
Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) Cont Supervisory Responsibilities Leader: Administers Hires, Terminations, and Performance Reviews Experience Qualifications Five (5) years of experience in the area of internal controls assessment and auditing.
Experience conducting and leading projects for both financial and operational audits.
Experience applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices.
One (1) year of experience in a supervisory role or supervisor capacity required.
Preferred Experience Education Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited institution required.
Preferred Education Professional Certification CPA, CIA, CISA designations preferred.
Professional Licenses Drivers License Required Yes, must have a valid California Driver's License.
Knowledge Requirement Solid understanding of internal auditing and accounting principles and practices.
Skills Requirement Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills.
Microsoft Office applications.
Abilities Requirement Ability to build successful relationships across the organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
