CONFIRE is a separate entity from San Bernardino County and
the Fire Protection District.
CONFIRE, JPA is recruiting for Finance/Administration Director to manage and coordinate the diverse and complex budgetary and financial activities for CONFIRE.
This position is responsible to develop, manage, and coordinate the financial operations and fiscal policies and procedures as well as oversee and manage the Finance/Adminstarion Division of CONFIRE.
CONFIRE, JPA is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) located in San Bernardino County California established to provide communications, dispatch, computer information systems support (IS), and geographic information systems (GIS) to CONFIRE member and contract agencies.
The CONFIRE Communications Center's (Comm Center) primary function is to provide 24-hour/365 day direct fire, EMS, and rescue dispatch services to CONFIRE agencies.
Beyond the direct fire dispatch role, Comm Center also functions as the San Bernardino County (XBO) Operational Area dispatch, which provides large incident coordination for fire, local government, and emergency medical resources on a countywide basis.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background: A successful background check is required prior to assignment.
Travel: Travel within and outside the County may be required.
A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be provided at time of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Health and Physical Condition: Candidate selected for this position must successfully meet the pre-employment safety, health, and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper for performance of the duties established by CONFIRE, JPA, prior to assignment.
Minimum Requirements
Desired Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Public/Business Administration, or other relevant field.
A Master’s degree in any of the aforementioned fields is highly desirable.
-AND-
Experience: Five (5) years of full-time equivalent professional-level accounting and finance experience for a governmental or other public agency with administrative oversight for financial analysis, budget management, and/or debt administration.
Experience must include primary responsibility for advising management on budgetary and financial strategies and development of financial plans.
Experience must also include at least two (2) or more years of supervision over finance staff.
The ideal candidate will also have experience as a Chief Financial Officer with a proven track record of success in a mid-size, or larger, governmental organization or other public agency.
