The company is looking for an Instrumentation Technician, ATD to join the team in Adelanto, CA.
* Perform ATD qualification, both test setup and execution
* Use defined procedures to perform calibrations on various instruments including accelerometers, load cells, and potentiometers
* Use defined procedures to disassemble, inspect, verify, and reassemble anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs)
* Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair ATDs and instrumentation
* Extract crash test dummies from crashed vehicles and their data/ground cables
* Utilize Data Acquisition System (DAS) and instrumentation to install required sensors and successfully collect required data as outlined in the test plan
* Create test setups
* Work with instrumentation team to collect crash test data using force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers, vehicle CAN channels, etc.
* QC of collected data from crash tests
* Calibrate, repair and test sensors to ensure they function and measure properly
* Install and verify sensors and data acquisition as required for vehicle and component tests including accelerometers, potentiometers and pressure/force transducers
* Operate diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, soldering iron and multi-meter
* Fabricate and repair wiring harnesses and connectors
* Provide technical support to team members
* Maintain safe working practices and environment always considering the safety of yourself and other employees
*Knowledge/Skills Required:*
* High School Diploma: 2 or more years of electronics experience preferred.
* Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, soldering iron and multimeter.
* Ability to use Outlook, Excel, and Word, and other MS Office applications.
* High level of initiative and proactive approach.
*Job Functions:*
* Follow all company policies and procedures.
* Must be able to use various hand tools.
* Must be able to lift 50lbs.
* Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions year round.
* Must be physically able to support test preparation and execution in an outdoor environment.
* Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work extended hours.
