Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and according to established procedure, performs routine service duties and basic patient/resident care procedures necessary to provide comfort and safety of patients.
In doing so, takes vital signs, assists patients with personal hygiene and feeds and ambulates patients/residents.
Maintains patient/resident environment in a clean and orderly condition.
This position is also responsible for providing clerical support for the unit and works under general supervision and direction of the department director, manager, supervisor or charge nurse, according to established policies and procedures.
In doing so, transcribes physicians' orders, schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients, assembles and maintains patient’s charts, answers telephone and intercom calls, providing routine, approved information, relays other calls and messages, and maintains appropriate supplies and equipment levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant required.
2.
Current CPR certification required.
3.
MAB certificate required within 6-months of hire.
4.
Elder Abuse training required within 60 days of hire.
5.
One year experience in acute hospital setting preferred.
6.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
7.
One year clerical experience and computer knowledge, and background in a hospital setting, preferred.
8.
Completion of medical terminology course preferred.
