Welcome to the Transgender Health & Wellness Center
The Transgender Health & Wellness Center was founded in 2018 on the need to develop Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex (TGI) leadership and to address transmisia and transphobia in workplaces that provide services to the TGI community for economic advantage of those marginalized persons.
It primary source of revenue is medically necessary hair removal and other services which in turn fund social service and advocacy positions.
As of 2023, TH&WC has four locations: 1 in Palm Springs, 2 in Riverside and 1 in San Diego.
In 2023, TH&WC opened the first Marsha P.
Johnson LGBTQ+ Youth Drop In Center in Palm Springs.
TH&WC is presently the largest employer of TGI persons in Southern California and is the first Trans-Led Community Clinic in Southern California.
Position Summary: A part time position of 15-40 hours a week for community health outreach for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault (DVSA).
The Community Outreach Coordinator will link survivors to services and care, provide outreach, education and build community partnerships.
The position starts based on experience at $18-23.
00 hours depending on qualifications and skill after probation.
This position is a grant based with the opportunity of becoming permanent based on deliverables and outcomes.

Reporting Supervisor: Reports to the Program Manager.

All positions require strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, multitasking, teamwork, and respect.
Social Skills: Strong positive outgoing social skills required.
Community connection and leadership a plus.
Communication and Follow Up: TH&WC has a strict professional non-disruptive communication and follow-up policy.
Atmosphere: The Transgender Health & Wellness Center strives to maintain a health and positive work environment that is relaxed.
It has a zero tolerance to work toxicity, hostile work environment and abuse.
The business model is managed from a TGI perspective to navigate systemic abuse and barriers not often recognized by cisgender persons of privilege.
It creates the next generation of community leadership and advocates for those without a voice at the table.
Hybrid: May be hybrid if meets work productivity and remote environment meets requirements at a later date.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
TH&WC does utilize multi language translator machines for different languages.
Live Scan and Second Chances: TH&WC does not discriminate against those with criminal records and believes not only in second chances but, also understands how a privileged system can led others to survival crimes.
LIVE scans are required.
Depending on the conviction will determine if the application for a position is legally obtainable.
Primary duties for the position: Provides community outreach and education about TH&WC’s domestic violence and sexual assault (DVSA) rapid rehousing program, and other TH&WC services.
Provides and maintains educational material for marketing the DVSA program.
Build community partnerships for TH&WC.
Assist in committees as assigned to represent TH&WC.
Build volunteer base to assist DVSA clients.
Locate potential new clients and educate about services.
Participate in resource fairs to build community partnerships, educate and connect with more DVSA persons.
Works directly with Program Manager, case management, mental health and other departments to ensure the success of the program and meet the mission.

Lived or academic experience in LGBTQ+ homeless and/or human services or working with vulnerable populations with a strong focus on the Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex community.
Effective time management and communication skills.
Includes speaking, listening, and writing in a clear, thorough, professional, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
Strong ability to effectively resolve and cope with immediate crisis situations.
Ability to organize and host events with significant community participation.
Able to assist the Program Manager and DVSA staff with proficiency and compliance.
Strong organizational, critical thinking skills, detail orientated, cleanliness and time management skills.
Excellent customer service.
Can maintain a respectful and non-judgmental relationship with clients, patients and the community.
Proven ability to work independently, effectively as an individual and part of a team with strong creative and critical thinking skills.
Strong loyalty and ability to represent the interests of the agency, interact effectively with a diverse group, and build successful collaborative relationships with program participants, staff, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years of administrative or clerical experience preferred in LGBTQ+ homeless services or related social services field or, advocacy leadership experience with strong skill in supervising others.
Three or more years of direct experience or lived experience with the Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex community.
Experience with HIV, PrEP and PEP.
Experience serving on community committees.
Ability to retain information, follow policies and procedures.
Strong critical thinking skills and motivational speaking.
Mandatory Qualifications: Have employment eligibility verification.
Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training.
Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends.
Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination Driving is an essential function of this position.
